Short Report of ITE's Silver Jubilee in August 2007

Dear friends,

Thank you for contributing in such a positive way to a successful and productive meeting! We had the opportunity to celebrate our "Silver Jubilee" and to revise what has happened during the last 25 years. We saw that some of our original programmes are now obsolete - such as internationalisation by exchange of students and staff through ITE, as Brussels has taken over that part. So we found new venues for our future cooperation and gave our organisation a new name, which will hopefully be easier to find in the Internet:

ILITE - which stands for International Learning and Innovation in Teacher Education - and implies international learning in the New Europe.

We have decided to proceed with a new International Class, which will be hold in Mepple in spring 2008. Responsible for this programme are Marissa Grotens and Wilfred van Eisden.

Wilfred van Eisden will also take care to manage the new website of ILITE http://www.ilite.eu/ and introduce now all necessary changes in it. And we will use the ITE-website only as an archive.

As the next greater project we will introduce the "Teacher Forum" - responsible for it is Bernhard Sieland in Lüneburg.

Finally we have voted for a new Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, who will also deal with finances: Ingrid Classen-Bauer and Bettina Motschmann in Lüneburg.

All the details will be available in the minutes that will appear in the website soon - we thank Helen Condor from Canterbury for taking care of it!

The Members of ILITE so fare are:

Bodø University College, Norway
Drenthe University of Professional Education, The Netherlands
Högskolan Dalarna, Falun, Schweden
Mid Sweden University, Härnösand, Sweden,
Haslev Seminarium,Haslev,Denmark
CVU Jelling , Jelling, Denmark
Norrdelije Hogeschool Leeuwarden, The Netherlands
LEUPHANA Universität Lüneburg, Germany
Lärarhögskolan Stockholm, Sweden

Canterbury, Kristianstad and Eisenstadt will hopefully became a member again.

And we like to take the opportunity to welcome the new Member from Norway at this page.

All the best and thank you for the positive attitude in bringing forth our network!

Ingrid and Bettina
